Supercondominio7

We are proud to have curated the seventh edition of Supercondominio, for the second year in its renewed role as the annual assembly of European independent spaces, and as part of Radis‘ public program. Last year’s gathering was held in Rittana. The seventh edition focused on education, seen as a tool to promote, exchange and open to new audiences, communities and areas, and it took place among the streets of Dogliani, traversed by unexpected architectural geometries that punctuate its hills and urban landscape. There, independent Italian and European projects shared space and time in a context of open dialogue, focused on art as a living ground for mutual learning, fostered by the research and insights of artists Cleo Fariselli and Elena Mazzi.

Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th of September 2025, six Italian projects and four from the rest of Europe met in the Teatro della Chiesa Sacra Famiglia to compare practices, experiences and educational methods: ALMANAC (Turin, Italy), ARTECO (Turin, Italy), CLOSING SOON (Athens, Greece), Independent Space Index (Vienna, Austria), LOCALES (Rome), Open School East (Margate, UK), PIA (Lecce, Italy), Post Disaster (Milan/Taranto, Italy), PUBLICS (Helsinki, Finland), Toast Project (Florence, Italy).

Cleo Fariselli presented U., an intimate and immersive performative experience. A series of small artworks, objects and exhibits are activated by gazes and gestures, passing directly from the hands of the artist to those of the participants: rather than an exhibition, U. is a rite of tactile and visual sharing. It has been performed since 2012 in different contexts and addressed to small groups, maintaining its lively, located and unrepeatable nature, offering a unique ever-changing experience.

Elena Mazzi presented a selection of works created over the years in a range of public contexts – in dialogue with institutions or with independent spaces – deconstructing the Europe calling work that had originally been established in the context of Ptuj 2012 European Capital of Culture, when Mazzi involved the Independent European Spaces in an open dialogue about their management and funding. The audience was invited to call directly and debate with the spaces involved, learning about alternative strategies of an independent bottom-up cultural work in the field.

Supercondominio7 was part of the public program of Radis, the art project in the public space developed and promoted by the Fondazione per l’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea CRT, the art-oriented body of the Fondazione CRT. It is now in its second edition following the extremely successful experience of the first edition with Giulia Cenci’s work “le masche” in the town of Rittana. This second edition is again curated by Marta Papini, once more in collaboration with the Fondazione CRC, with the visual artist Petrit Halilaj (1986, Kostërrc, Kosovo) who has created the site-specific work “Abetare (A Day at the School)” in Borgata Valdibà, in the district of Dogliani.
